This particular Dragon Slayers Bash was our first attempt at a tournament since the break up of the SMDS and the formation of the Dragon Slayers, and so would prove to be a yardstick by which our future events would be judged. Because of that we decided to pull out all the stops and try something completely new, and we came up with the Arena of Death, in which players would select a Champion to fight it out gladiator-style each round. All the old favourites from the SMDS days were still there - the scoring system, the scenarios and the rules quiz - and in the end, it proved rather more successful than we'd hoped. What can we say? The future's bright for the Dragon Slayers!
