Range seems to be a good way. I keep thinking, probably because of 40k, that pretty much most guns will be in range whereas in reality 14" isn't massive. If i had moved my caster back he wouldn't have been spread over the table by the behemoth but i had in my mind that wherever i moved him he would be in range.

I certainly learned a few things lol, those pikemen are not very nice! My poor jugga didnt stand a chance. Was a good game tho dude glad your enjoying it, what i do sometimes when i comes to defending your caster is to think how you would go about killing him yourself with you oponants force, if that makes sense?
Let me know when your up for a rematch anyway (ill tone my lost down to)
