Club Information

If you've got this far it probably means you want to know more about the Dragon Slayers as a club. That's quite spooky, because this page will actually give you more information on that very subject! Isn't life full of coincidence?

How did you all get together?
That's a long story, and it deserves a long explanation, but the short version is that a few groups of mates met at a tournament, found that we lived pretty close and decided to team up. There's a lot more to it, so if you're interested, have a look at the Club History page!

It all started when Sheffield & Mansfield coveted each other's pints...

What has the club achieved?
An interesting question! Individually we've achieved a fair amount, but over the past year or so we've also proved we're a club to be reckoned with. Intrigued? Find out more on the Club Achievements page!

Why are you called the Dragon Slayers?
The name "Dragon Slayers" was originally used by the Sheffield boys, who were known as the Sheffield Dragon Slayers at tournaments in the late nineties. When they met up with the Mansfield boys the name was kept alive within the club we becamse, the Sheffield & Mansfield Dragon Slayers, but with us attracting members from Chesterfield, Nottingham and other nearby places the parochial nature of the name seemed a bit inappropriate. So we just shortened it to the Dragon Slayers, with the added bonus that it has very English connotations - St George and all that - and we're a patriotic bunch!
