In this scenario, originally used in the
Sheffield Slaughter 2003, a mighty stone of power is the focus of the struggle. Both armies are keen to capture this ancient monolith and use its mysterious energies for their own ends!

Stone of Power

The stone of power will be placed at the centre of the battlefield by the Umpires before the game begins, but it does not count as an obstacle and units may move freely over it. It has a powerful effect on the winds of magic as well as your wizards, and each magic phase one player must roll a D6. This represents the stone’s capacity to drain magic from the winds. The nearest wizard (or runesmith) on the battlefield may attempt to stifle the draining energies of the stone by re-rolling this die, but no other source may re-roll it.
Any rolls of that number — through casting or dispelling — are ignored completely for any type of army, unless a player is allowed to re-roll such dice. This does mean Irresistible Force or a Miscast can be avoided. Bound spells are unaffected.

Additionally, to represent the stone’s importance, both players must add up the points values of all of their units within 6” of the stone (not including skirmishers or war machines, units must be unit strength 5 or greater to count and points values of units at less than half strength are halved); the player with the most amount of points in that 6”.
