Hidden Deployment

quick links | rules map

In this scenario, originally used in the Sheffield Slaughter 2003, morning fog means you are forced to deploy your army without knowing your opponents' dispositions. As the fog lifts, you realise your opponent has had just as much a problem as yourself...

Hidden Deployment

This game is played as a pitched battle with the following set up rules. Place terrain as per usual. Then both players must take the battlefield sheets provided (divided into a foot square grid) and draw the terrain in its final location. After both players have agreed on the terrain placement and drawn it on their sheets, they must then secretly draw the placement of their units, using the grid as a guideline.

Both players then reveal their maps and place their units accordingly. Of course, a totally accurate map is almost impossible and a certain amount of leeway is allowed; if it is not possible to fit every unit in the exact position drawn then players must place them as close to the map as possible. If you have a problem, call over an Umpire!
