Dragon Slayer Tournaments

Last Tournament:
Sheffield Slaughter 2009

The tenth Slaughter is upon us!

Here at the Dragon Slayers we like jumping on bandwagons and when we realised back in the Golden Age that we could hold tournaments ourselves, we set about doing so with a vengeance. Quite a few major headaches, car incidents and hair-tearing but rather a lot of acclaim later, the results of our efforts and many dodgy hairstyles can be judged right here...

Dragon Slayer Tournament Archive

All Dragon Slayer tournaments hold a special place in our collective hearts and accordingly we believe our fond traditions and markedly spectacular history should be laid bare for all manner of creatures, foreign johnnies and bagladies to peruse whenever they wish. In other words, here's where you'll find details of all our previous tournaments!

Tournaments Held in 2009

With three tournaments already under our belt in 2008, notably the Sheffield Slaughter, we reckon we're doing rather well so far. Still, we're not resting on our laurels - watch out for the Mansfield Maul and the Frontline Sheffield 2008...

Sheffield Slaughter

Tournaments Held in 2008

We thought we'd held a lot in 2006, but we held more tournaments than ever in 2007, a whole ten of them - six Warhammer, two Flames of War and two Epic: Armageddon! Incredible but true, and the punters flocked to them in droves! Well, tens. The Sheffield Slaughter was the highlight, of course, but the Dragon Slayer Epic GT 2007 wasn't far behind - and the Mansfield Maul was a little cracker, certainly one to watch for the future!

2006 saw us hold more tournaments than you can shake a stick at, with Matt Otter holding his first Epic: Armageddon event - Full Scale Assault - and Paul Scrivens-Smith expanding his Flames of War repertoire with the Frontline Mansfield III and Frontline Mansfield IV. As well as that, we continued the Sheffield Slaughter tradition and the Mansfield Maul was on our minds too. Truly a spectacular year!

This year was the start of us branching out into holding tournaments for different systems, with Flames of War holding our attention thanks to Paul Scrivens-Smith and Warhammer providing the usual Sheffield Slaughter, of course.

There was only the one tournament for us in 2004, the Sheffield Slaughter, but it was its usual self - great!

2003 was a year of good intentions but sadly only the Sheffield Slaughter was held, but we didn't mind. We had plans!

We only held one event in 2002, the Dragon Slayers Bash, mainly because the club was so disorganised and - well, disorganised, thanks to finally becoming the Dragon Slayers. It was still a cracker though!

Sheffield Slaughter

Tournaments Held in 2002

2001 was a very successful year for the still-Sheffield and Mansfield Dragon Slayers; we held two tournaments, the Sheffield Slaughter and the SMDS Challenge Cup and we won just about everything in sight - including the WPS Club Challenge and our own tournaments!

Dragon Slayers Bash

Tournaments Held in 2001

A seminal year for us, was 2000 - we held two events in Mansfield, the Mansfield Maul and the Mansfield Maul II, for no other reason than we thought it would be a cool venue. It was, but we still shudder at the pie and peas...

The year the Sheffield & Mansfield Dragon Slayers came together out of the Mansfield Warriors and the Sheffield Dragon Slayers, 1999 saw two cracking events at Sheffield - the Dragon Slayers Bash and the very first Sheffield Slaughter - with us gaining a reputation for fairness, a great atmosphere and some blimmin' good food!

Oh, blimey. The birth of something big - 1998 saw the Sheffield Dragon Slayers hold the first Dragon Slayers Bash, and whilst it was a small one everything starts small... or so they say!
