Summer Blood Bowl 2004

Hellooooo Sports Fans!
It's summer time again and you all know what that means... the return of the Dragon Slayers Cup or, more properly, the Summer Blood Bowl League! With
Dave Grant, the head coach of defending Cup champions the Tree Hugging Hippies, having moved to a rougher league in Hull there is yet again everything to play for! However, not all the veterans have moved on, with last season's League winners The Icebreakers (coached by
Rob Lane) still about and looking to capitalise on their solid performances from last year. Other teams that will be in the mix comprise of some new coaches and some existing teams, including the return of the balding
Richard Paget who is running two teams this season - the Profits of Doom with a new starting line up and a new Elf team called The Lothern Longbows. Talk about a glutton! There's all your other favourites, too, including the Berstrom Bullets (coached by
Greg Chambers), the Quo-Quacktel Raiders (mauled by
Chris Legg), Leggy’s Leg Eaters (assisted by
Andrew Chesney), the Lothern Lions (run by
Pete Delafield) and the Averland Stags (er, cobbled together by
Paul Scrivens-Smith).
There are other coaches on the sidelines, waiting to be signed to a team before the summer deadline, too:
Matt Otter looks likely to be picked up (he wishes) by an Amazon team for the coming season and rumour has it that
Michael Biggs may be contesting this season's title too. With all these dynamic individuals involved in this year's struggle for the title it could get very exciting very quickly!
Stay tuned!

Hello again sports fans! Three more exciting matches this week with a new Lizardmen team taking to the field under the watchful eye of moral-free coach
Chris Legg. The Quo-Quacktel Raiders put up a good fight against the more experienced Lothern Longbows, with the Elf team taking an early lead which didn't last long as the Raiders really put the bite on either side of half-time. The monstrous Kroxigor caused untold damage to the Longbows' front line which led to the Raiders rampaging through to score two touchdowns, with the Longbows mangaing to score a second to snatch a draw. Our second game of the week looked a really brutal one with Xlanhaupec Forest stopped in their tracks again, this time by the very same brutal Kroxigor from game one. The Raiders really look to be getting into the swing of things, causing four casualties and Forest looked to have been beaten at their own game!
Our final game was Adam's Gay Ogres and Goblins against the Lothern Longbows and I can tell you this is a game the Longbows will want to avoid again in the future! Even thoguh they managed a four to one victory they took a real hammering on the pitch as the Ogre front line smacked Elves into the ground left, right and centre. It all looked pretty bad for the Elves but they managed to put together a really effective passing game to clinch them the win. The Ogres' only touchdown came from a Goblin flung downfield to land nimbly (well, for a Goblin) in the end zone!
